When a tooth is missing, neighbouring teeth gradually drift and the bone in that area shrinks. An implant lets you restore a tooth without grinding down healthy neighbouring teeth, as a bridge requires. It is a surgical procedure, so it is planned in advance.
At Dentika, implantation involves two areas: the surgical stage (placing the implant) and the prosthetic stage (abutment, crown or denture). Both stages appear in the price list as separate items, so you can see what the plan consists of.
When implantation is considered

- A removable denture is uncomfortable and you need a more stable support

How it works at Dentika
- Consultation and diagnostics. The doctor examines the mouth and assesses the amount and quality of bone on an X-ray; if needed, orders or refers you for a 3D scan.
- Treatment plan. The implant system is chosen, the crown is discussed and, if there is little bone, bone grafting or a sinus lift.
- Implant placement. The operation is done under local anaesthesia. Its duration depends on the number of implants and complexity.
- Healing. The implant fuses with the bone over several months. The doctor sets the period for your situation; a temporary restoration may be used meanwhile.
- Healing abutment. After integration a healing abutment is placed — it prepares the gum contour around the future crown.
- Crown or denture. An impression is taken, the laboratory makes the restoration, and it is tried in and fitted.

How much does an implant cost at Dentika?
In the 2026–2027 price list implant placement is given by system: Osstem or Inno, Neodent or K3Pro, Straumann. The crown on the implant is paid for as separate items. The doctor names the exact amount after diagnostics.
Is placing an implant painful?
The operation is done under local anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain during it. Some discomfort is possible for a few days afterwards — the doctor will explain how to manage it.
How long does treatment take?
It depends on the situation: from the consultation to the crown takes several months because the implant needs time to integrate. The doctor gives approximate timing in the plan.
Are there restrictions for implantation?
Yes, in some conditions implantation is postponed or not done — for example, with certain chronic illnesses or unfinished treatment of the mouth. The doctor decides this at the consultation.
